Week 9 Term 4- LAST ONE!

Good afternoon parents, So it has come, our last week together. I just want to take this opportunity to thank you for your ongoing support throughout the year. This is such a lovely cohort, so it has been an absolute pleasure to teach your children. They have grown and developed into such confident and motivated young people. I have learnt so much from them and will miss them greatly. I wish you all a safe and happy festive season. Some information for the last week: Recycling bags for books We ask the each child brings a green bag or plastic bag to school tomorrow so they can take home their books from the year. We will send home the assessment/display folders on Thursday with the more formal pieces of work. Christmas Concert On Wednesday at 5.30pm, the entire school will be getting together to celebrate the Year 6 Graduation, the Christmas concert performed by the Year 5's and each year group will be presenting the 2018 Making Jesus Real CARE award and the subject award for Desig

Week 8 Term 4 - Important Stuff!!

Good evening all, Boy oh boy are we getting close now to the end! This week started well with the students on Monday morning having a taste of what life in Year 5 will be like next year. As sad as I am to lose this class, I know they are ready to be challenged with Mr D. Congratulations to Kobe, Remy and Zali on being our week 7 merit award winners. In their own special way, they have made such wonderful progress in the final term of the year.  Below I have included many important reminders for the busy week ahead. IMPORTANT REMINDERS Christmas Play and Awards Evening  - is scheduled for Wednesday 5th December commencing at 5.30pm. All students are asked to come dressed in their Christmas colours - feel free to wear antler, hats, tinsel, etc as it 'tis the season to be jolly'! S T. Good afternoon everyone, I hope you had a wonderful weekend, doing something special with your family. It was great seeing many of you at the fete yesterday, even if it was when I was being drowned in the 'Dunk tank'! Congratulations to Taylah for being our Star Citizen Award winner from last week. Good afternoon everyone, Another ripper of a weekend, it can only be a sign of the awesome weather soon to come! Congratulations to our Merit Award winners from last week:  Banjo and Kade. We are so impressed to see that both of you are working incredibly hard, right up to the end of the year. LISTENING & SPEAKING TASK: 'If I could live in another part or the world...' Good morning everyone, If anyone could slow this term down, I would be most appreciative😊. I have just realised how close we are to the end and it has come too quickly.  Congratulations to our Merit Award winners: Allira, Sienna, Cooper and Oliver. They have all started the term with great focus and determination. ART: Recycled Art FROM MISS CHARLES: Aloha! an amazing start to our visual arts unit for this term. I have been so proud of the students responses to Ian Mutch's art work. Their art pieces  they have created by applying Mutch's techniques and style are looking incredible. Looking ahead... next week we will have a new artist in focus. The theme for the next 2 lessons with the students will be exploring the use of recycled materials to create art.    It links well with Ian Mutch's brand new book MORE, MORE, MORE which explores the message of collecting more and more things until our 'home' can no longer carry the load. Speaking and Listening Challenge Term 4 2018

Today your children were given a copy of this information, to begin their new Speaking and Listening Challenge for this term. The speeches will begin in week 4, see the roster below. Term 4 Year 4 2018: Speaking & Listening Challenge “If I could live in another part of the world, it would be…” Each week on a Wednesday and Friday (starting week 4), students will be taking turns to present a short 2 minute presentation on the topic  “If I could live in another part of the world, it would be…” .  The aim of this project is for the students to use the feedback given last term to improve their Speaking and Listening skills. Good evening, I'm sorry this blog post has arrived a little later than usual, it has taken me a little longer to sort myself after a wonderful weekend at family camp. No matter where you were this weekend, I hope you all had a wonderful time and the best thing is...we only have 3 more days to go until the next one! What's Happening This Week? Art:   Over the next 6 weeks students will be learning Art with Miss Charles every Friday afternoon. The artist in focus for the unit is local artist, Ian Mutch. Ian's work is visible throughout the South West. Please encourage students to find and appreciate some of his murals around town. They can be found at the following locations: The Coles complex alley way between Stocker Preston and the BP petrol station, the wall across the front of the Dunsborough Pub, the large wall on the south side of Mitre 10 (near where Blue Wren Gallery used to be)  and the Art Society building near the bowling club.
