Week 4 homework

This week, we are extending our mental strategy of double, double for multiplication by 4.  We have used this in strategy in class, but I have also uploaded a video on edmodo for reference.
Homework includes mental maths unit 12, reading and spelling.  Can I please ask that you mark your child's mental maths homework.
For reading, I have set a reading eggs assignment I would like to be finished.  Reading from reading eggs at least 2 nights a week should be sufficient to complete this, so on the other nights, please ensure that your child is reading for ten minutes from a book of their choice.

Welcome to Year 4!

Good morning and welcome to year 4! Mr Torrese and I are very excited about the year ahead and hopefully you are too! Mr T and I will use this Blog to help with communication, send out friendly reminders, update you on some of our learning and for homework. Homework this week will involve reading each night (please write in your child's diary the time spent reading) and mental maths Unit 2.  In class we have practiced the mental strategy but the attached video will help should you require reminding.  Please mark your child's homework daily. Welcome to 6R for 2020!

Good morning, Welcome to Year 6!  I hope you all had a relaxing holiday enjoying the summer weather and making precious family memories. Whilst it has gone quickly, I am happy to be getting back into it and setting some routines to keep me on the straight and narrow.  Words fail to express how lucky and privileged both Alison and I feel to be having this group of students again before they leave OLC. Since having them in 2018, I have seen some amazing maturity and growth take place (I thank Mr D and you wonderful parents for that). For this reason, I expect big things from them all, as I know they are incredible little humans and have such great potential as the leaders of the school. Each student will need to take on greater roles and responsibilities this year in preparation for high school, enabling a smooth transition.
