Annual shoebox appeal note

Please see attached a copy of the note coming home today regarding the annual shoebox appeal.

Dear Parents,

It is the time of year when we ask for the  support of the OLC community to help children in need by providing items that can be packaged in shoeboxes and sent to those in need.

The shoeboxes our school helps to send may be the only gift that the child receives all year and they are very gratefully received!

This year we will have a combined effort between the Year 4, 5 and 6 classrooms to donate items that can be used to package the boxes.

In Year 4 all students will provide 2 items for the shoebox and $2.50 to pay for the postage of the boxes.

Students will need to bring in something to love and a something for school. Some examples are listed below.

Something to Love teddy bear, doll, soft toy etc.

Something for school exercise book, pencils, sharpener, erasers, chalk.

Your child will be given the age of the student to bring in appropriate items for. Boys will buy for boys and girls will buy for girls.

These items will be centrally collected and then we will pack the shoeboxes once all items are in.

Please make sure that you have brought your items and money in by Monday 12th September.

Our swimming carnival is this Thursday 23rd of February at the Geographe Leisure Centre.  As always it looks like it is going to be a fabulous, fun filled day. Coming home today are permission slips and a note detailing what to expect on Thursday. Students have placed these in their bags and I have enclosed attached them below for reference. Week 8 Term 2

Good afternoon parents, I can not begin to explain how proud I was of all the students yesterday at the First Eucharist mass. They acted with great reverence and respect, participating so well in every part of the mass.  A tear did well in my eye when I saw the students reciting the prayers and completing the actions at the appropriate times. We thank you for the support and guidance you have given throughout the preparation of the sacrament. All of the students have taken home today their poster, banner, prayer card and cross as little mementos for you to keep and reflect on in time to come. Congratulations to Lucas, Taylah and Gabriel on receiving a Merit award at Friday's assembly, they are working hard to achieve their best . Mother's Day Assembly

Good afternoon This Friday is our prayer assembly and it is also Mother's day this weekend.  So I have decided to combine the two events and we will have a Mother's Day Themed Prayer Assembly. All students have readings, which we have been practicing for a few days now.  They also took photos of their readings on their Ipads today so they can access them to practice.  Please support your child by practicing their lines with them.
