Discover Deadly

Good evening, What a wonderful day we had at Discover Deadly!  We were so blessed with the fun and exciting activities that were on hand. We had the opportunity to touch a turtle and a snake, as well as watch both animals being fed. The lovely ladies at Discover Deadly, did a one off special, by feeding the salt water crocodile on it's wrong day. I was so appreciative of the extra time and care the presenters spent with the students to share their wealth of knowledge. I would like to thank Gemma Sorgiovanni, Sharonne Douglas and Michelle Kerr for giving up their time to share in this experience with us.  Below are some pictures of our brave little snake handlers: On another note, I will be away this Friday 14th September, as I will be attending a Friendology Summit in Perth. The class will be left in the very capable hands of Mrs Kathy Holt.  Don't forget Monday 17th September is Learning Journey afternoon, from 3.30pm -5.00pm. We would love to see yo...

Good morning everyone,  I hope you had a chance to rest and recoup in the gorgeous sunshine this weekend. I was a very proud mumma this weekend and got the chance to cheer on my little man playing Auskick at Optus Stadium. It's a shame the Docker's didn't follow it up with a win! Congratulations to  Alicia and Savannah  on receiving a Merit Award at Friday's Assembly, it is such a pleasure to watch you both blossom in our classroom. FAREWELL... Friday will be Alicia's last day in our classroom. She has fit seamlessly into the classroom,  forming strong friendships and being so eager to learn. LEARNING IN CLASS: There is a lot of work on display at the moment, as we have been so busy this term. Please feel free to pop in and have a look at the work the students have produced. Operation Christmas Child Initiative

Image
Dear Parents, Over the coming weeks, the students in Year 4 are going to participate in an initiative called 'Operation Christmas Child' which aims to pack a shoebox to give to a child who has never received a gift before. This ties into our school value of Compassion as we are helping less fortunate children in need. The students in Years 3-6 will collaborate on collecting their donation items and we will come together as a mixed group to put the boxes together.  The following classes are responsible for the items listed below: Year 3M - Something to wear Year 3D - A personal hygiene item Year 4 - Something to draw with Year 5 - Something to play with  Year 6 - Something to love. In the coming days your child will be bringing home a note which indicates if they are bringing in an item for a boy or girl and what age. All students are asked to bring in $2.50 to help pay for postage. It would be great if your child could perhaps use their own pocket money to purchase t...
