Week 7 Term 3

Good morning everyone,

I hope you had a chance to rest and recoup in the gorgeous sunshine this weekend. I was a very proud mumma this weekend and got the chance to cheer on my little man playing Auskick at Optus Stadium. It's a shame the Docker's didn't follow it up with a win!

Congratulations to
Alicia and Savannah on receiving a Merit Award at Friday's Assembly, it is such a pleasure to watch you both blossom in our classroom.

FAREWELL... Friday will be Alicia's last day in our classroom. She has fit seamlessly into the classroom,  forming strong friendships and being so eager to learn. We have loved having her in our class and learning a little more about Spain and her way of life in Alicante. We will miss her when she leaves.

LEARNING IN CLASS:
There is a lot of work on display at the moment, as we have been so busy this term. Please feel free to pop in and have a look at the work the students have produced. I am really proud of their efforts and improvements they are making this term.

ANIMAL DIORAMAS:
Last week the students began researching the habitats of their chosen animal. In our Geography lesson tomorrow, the children will begin designing their diorama and planning what items they will need to collect and bring in. On Tuesday 4th September we will begin making our dioramas, so it is important that they have their materials returned by then. Craft items will be supplied at school, however all students will be required to bring in a shoe box and any other specific items they want to include in their diorama.

Speaking and Listening Speeches - The presenters this week are Taylah (Wed), Kade (Wed), Jack (Fri) and Savannah (Fri).

SPEAKING & LISTENING ROSTER

Mental Maths - Think Mentals, Unit 26, Day 1-4

Reading - Reading Log
READERS - Every child has now received a new reader for this week, unless they didn't return their previous one. Can you please ensure your child returns their reader on FRIDAY to allow us to swap them over in preparation for the following Monday.

It is important that students complete their reading log. This means writing in the date, title of the book and getting a signature from yourselves to say they have read.

NEW! Animal Research
In class we have been researching the student's chosen animal, using an A3 planning template. Some students have not completed the research component, therefore they will be bringing it home for homework. It is to be completed by Thursday, ready for us to write our final Information Report, which will be assessed.
