Week 2 Term 3

Good afternoon and welcome to week 2.

I have spoken to a number of the children and they have said that they enjoyed the homework grid, which is great news.  Please work with your children to ensure that they identify the homework they are completing and to sign the grid ready for submitting on Friday.  I have provided these grids again this week and will continue to do so throughout the term.

Mental maths this week is Unit 20 and to assist marking this, I have included a post in Edmodo that has the mental maths answers.  Please support your children by marking their maths using the answers on edmodo (your child will be able to show this to you).  Remember, Edmodo can be accessed from any device by going to www.edmodo.com where your child can sign in with their username and password.

Last week, you child was given a science task.  The task was to take a soil sample and bring this to class in a screw top jar.  Please support your child to bring this sample in for tomorrows (Tuesday's) lesson.

Finally, Mr Torrese has added a homework task to edmodo.  This task is to watch a video that relates to a viewing activity that will be completed on Wednesday. To ensure your child is ready for this activity, please support them by setting aside time to watch this video.

Good evening, What a well-timed long weekend! It was a a great chance to rest and recoup, with lots of fun things to do in the most beautiful place with the most beautiful weather! Sally the Sloth

Good afternoon parents, I hope you are well and the week is flying by, getting us a closer to the weekend ahead! I am writing to you to clarify the recent news the children received about Sally the Sloth in class, as I know there has been a lot of excitement around this.  As part of the Talk4Write PD I completed before school started this term, I was taught a new concept of when introducing a new writing genre, try to create a 'hook' to get the students really excited, engaged and wanting to learn more about the subject. At the start of this Term we are focusing on Persuasive writing, therefore the 'hook' I created was that Sally the sloth is apart of a breeding program at the Perth Zoo and I had made an application to have the chance to babysit Sally for a week. Week 8 Term 2

Good afternoon parents, I can not begin to explain how proud I was of all the students yesterday at the First Eucharist mass. They acted with great reverence and respect, participating so well in every part of the mass.  A tear did well in my eye when I saw the students reciting the prayers and completing the actions at the appropriate times. We thank you for the support and guidance you have given throughout the preparation of the sacrament. All of the students have taken home today their poster, banner, prayer card and cross as little mementos for you to keep and reflect on in time to come. Congratulations to Lucas, Taylah and Gabriel on receiving a Merit award at Friday's assembly, they are working hard to achieve their best .
