Week 8 Term 4 - Important Stuff!!

Good evening all,

Boy oh boy are we getting close now to the end!

This week started well with the students on Monday morning having a taste of what life in Year 5 will be like next year. As sad as I am to lose this class, I know they are ready to be challenged with Mr D.

Congratulations to Kobe, Remy and Zali on being our week 7 merit award winners. In their own special way, they have made such wonderful progress in the final term of the year.

Below I have included many important reminders for the busy week ahead.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

Christmas Play and Awards Evening - is scheduled for Wednesday 5th December commencing at 5.30pm. All students are asked to come dressed in their Christmas colours - feel free to wear antler, hats, tinsel, etc as it 'tis the season to be jolly'!

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL CHRISTMAS HAMPER APPEAL – PLEASE HELP! - Each year at OLC we take time to be thankful for our blessings and to assist those in need by contributing to Christmas Hampers distributed by the St. Vincent De Paul Society. This year boxes will be located in various areas of the school and families are invited to contribute specified items. Please look out for boxes in the following areas and add to the box closest to your child’s classroom. Please give generously to support others in what can be a difficult time of the year. Thank you for your support.

We are asked to bring in items such as: toiletries, such as shampoo, hairbrush, toothpaste, toothbrushes, lip balm, sunscreen, moisturisers, soap etc. Our box is located in the wet area! Please make sure that you have brought in your donated items by Monday 3rd December.

Year 4/5 Choir - This Friday night Graduation Mass will be taking place at the church from 5.30pm. We are asking for any students in year 4/5 to help Mrs Horrocks in the choir. Those that are available to attend and sing in the choir would be greatly appreciated by all.

Art Project - This Friday we will be making a little gift to send home for Christmas. Without revealing too much, we require any old green, white, red, silver or gold buttons. I have collected many already, however I have said to the students that they may have some special ones they want to bring in to add to their gift.

Take Home Readers - I ask that all Take Home Readers are returned by the end of this week, as Mrs Kemp is in the process of doing a stock take. I would hate for anyone to get an invoice by mistake.

Books Sent Home - Please note, we will begin sending home work books next week. We will still keep working right up until the very end but we are very mindful of not saving it all to go home on the last day! If you can please make sure that your child brings an additional bag with them on Monday 3rd December!

HOMEWORK - WEEK 8

Reading - If you can please make sure that your child is reading and completing their reading log.

Spelling - Students are to complete LSCWC of their list words and Dictionary meanings.

Mental Maths - No Mental Maths this week.

PLEASE NOTE THERE WILL BE NO HOMEWORK NEXT WEEK!
Enjoy the rest of the week,

Mrs Ricciardone & Mr Torrese
